Following the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice ICJ in February 2019 calling for the UK to withdraw from the Chagos Archipelago in order to bring a definite end to the decolonisation process of Mauritius yesterday’s UN vote has clearly established that the international community is overwhelming in its support for our island and its ongoing struggles to make right the wrongs that have been committed in the past under the golden days of colonisation
